Miami MoCAAD is standardizing the world's data on Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora. As the Director of Content Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the intersection of content creation, team management and hiring, and distribution for The Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora (Miami MoCAAD). You will have a strategic role in shaping the vision and direction of Miami MoCAAD's content initiatives which includes educational programs, art and film showcases, live and virtual events.
You will lead a team responsible for ensuring the quality, relevance, and strategic alignment of all content produced and distributed by the organization. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of content strategy, operations, and team management.
Mission:
The Miami Museum of Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora (Miami MoCAAD) goal is to discover, commission, collect and preserve the work of the most advanced contemporary artists of the Global African Diaspora and its mother continent Africa. As a museum of the future, the museum will embed technology in exhibitions, programs, and practices, going beyond digital art offerings to explore ways technology can elevate experiences, educate and reach audiences around the world.
Miami MoCAAD aims to curate, produce, and distribute compelling content that educates, inspires, and amplifies the voices of contemporary African diasporan artists and communities.

Market Position:

- New and innovative Miami MoCAAD will blend art and technology to create new community networks, new contexts for identities and new ways to experience museums.

Key Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content creation and distribution.
- Optimize Hiring and Retention KPIs for content team
- Optimize Cost and Unit Economic KPIs for content team
- Optimize Brand Visibility and Distribution KPIs
- Optimize CRO (conversion rate optimization) KPIs
- Develop high level strategy with an experienced understanding of industry best practices, benchmarketing, industry leadership and multichannel, multi-modal production and distribution
- Lead the content operations team in the development and execution of content strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Oversee the creation, production, and distribution of high-quality content across multiple platforms, including digital, social media, and events. This includes educational programs, art and film showcases, live and virtual events
- Develop and maintain content calendars, ensuring a consistent and engaging content schedule.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify content opportunities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to track success and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in developing and managing content budgets across different channels, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
Requirements:
- An openness to very hands-on management feedback
- Enthusiasm about art with a focus on contemporary African Diaspora or African Art a strong plus
- A demonstrated track record of setting, meeting, managing and even exceeding OKRs & KPIs
- At least 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur or a key team member with a direct-response / performance marketing centric organization in the role of content operations, content marketing, or related role
- A demonstrated track record of resilience skills
- A demonstrated track record of high adaptability skills
- Exceptional curiosity and a willingness to learn new things to address the needs of a rapidly changing business environment
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies.
- Enthusiasm to build, lead, and coach
- Enthusiasm about emerging technologies in the AI, AR and VR Space
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in the arts, culture or media industry with a focus on contemporary African Diaspora or African Art
- Adept and comfortable with industry standard tech stacks such as Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make, CRM and Content Management platforms
- Knowledgeable about modular content, content atomization, component-base content and design, content libraries and content reuse
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, psychology, math or a hard science strongly preferred. Graduate Degree or PHD a plus. Other degrees will be considered however.
Compensation:
- $130,000 - $160,000 per year based on experience and track record
- Benefits (negotiable)
